Saj Bread
Saj Bread is a Pita bread cooked on an iron pot. it can be placed over a fire or on your stove. Since most of us don’t own a Saj- use a wok and your highest flame (but don’t let the fire touch the Wok/Saj).
Making this bread is fun and simple. you can make it with friends or children, it’s a great upgrade for any event (I just had it for lunch today. Try having it with some Hummus 🙂
Ingredients
- 250 grams whole wheat flour
- 150 grams all-purpose-flour
- 1 tsp dry yeast
- 1 tsp sea salt
- 1 cup water 250 ml
- olive oil
- 2 cloves garlic minced
- hyssop optional but recommended
Servings: Pitas
Instructions
- mix the flours, yeast and salt. add water and keep kneading for 5-6 minutes, knead with your hands for 2-3 minutes.
